This was super simple and packed a punch in the taste department. Since the roomie is not as fond of grilled cheese sandwiches like I am AND he was craving his mom’s sandwich (grilled bread, eggs, tomatoes), I put my own spin on it.
I used anchovy oil and butter to grill the bread slices; placed farm fresh eggs, slices of tomato and cucumbers inside—THAT’S IT. I served it with a side of half of an avocado and grilled brussels sprouts (anchovy fillets, fresh garlic, crushed red pepper, salt, fresh cracked black pepper).

…..sounds divine, doesn’t it? Well, I felt like I was back in Paris for just a moment. I took one bite into this sweet crêpe and it just oooozzzzed of fresh strawberries, bananas and Nutella, tucked in the most lusciously thin and chewy wrapper!
If you’re ever around Jack London Square on Sundays, then you HAVE to go to La crêpe à moi and try one of their crêpes. They even use organic ingredients! They are also available at many farmer’s markets around the Bay area—check out their schedule here. You will NOT be disappointed!
What’s a crêpe without some insanely good coffee??? We also had some crazy good New Orleans style iced coffee and a cappuccino from Blue Bottle Coffee Co. Since we were at the farmer’s market, we picked up some fresh organic tomatoes—I’ll be going back for some more of the sweet tomatoes and the juicy looking strawberries, but I seriously went to the farmer’s market for the main purpose of eating one of those delicious crêpes again!
